The Maurerische Trauermusik is a beautiful instrumental lament featuring the rich, dark tones of three basset horns.

Familiar, rare, and new are the ingredients of this concert. Bram Kortekaas has written a new orchestral work commissioned by Phion, which will have its world premiere here.

Rarely heard music comes from Max Bruch with his Concerto for Viola and Clarinet. Soloists Miguel da Silva and Olivier Patey advocate for this unjustly forgotten piece. The two works by Mozart are well-known. Maurerische Trauermusik is a beautiful instrumental lament featuring the rich, dark tones of three basset horns. Symphony No. 40 is undoubtedly Mozart's most famous symphony, a masterpiece of musical expression.

Friday, October 18 at the Music Center in Enschede: Mozart's 40th.
