The smallest yet most touching work in Mahler's repertoire.

Phion's tradition of performing Mahler around Christmas continues this year.

After last year's impressive Fifth Symphony conducted by chief conductor Alexei Ogrintchouk, this year's program features Symphony No. 4. This is the smallest yet most touching of the nine symphonies composed by Mahler. Swedish soprano Camilla Tilling, who has previously delivered a brilliant performance of this part with the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra and the Berlin Philharmonic, will be the soloist in the intimate final movement. The rest of the concert is also dedicated to Mahler. Camilla Tilling will sing the renowned Rückert Lieder, and the dreamy Blumine will serve as the instrumental opening. Friday, December 13th at the Muziekcentrum in Enschede: Christmas with Mahler 4.
