Each musician shines as a soloist with challenging solo passages.

The piano is the absolute centerpiece of the third edition of the Arnhem Piano Biennale.

Phion accompanies two piano concertos: Hannes Minnaar performs the lesser-known concerto by Henriëtte Bosmans, while Nathalia Milstein is the soloist in Brahms' Second Piano Concerto. The orchestra will also perform the latter concerto outside the biennale. Opening these concerts is Bartók's Concerto for Orchestra, in which the entire orchestra performs as a soloist, featuring a multitude of challenging solo passages for the individual musicians. Bas Wiegers, a long-time and much-loved guest conductor with Phion, will be on the podium.

On Sunday, March 30 at the Muziekcentrum in Enschede: Nathalia Milstein plays Brahms.
