Woodcraft: Joshua, Noah, Wouter, Reinout, and Ischa first met as young boys in 2010 on a soccer field during De Muziekdagen in Orvelte.

This marked the beginning of a close friendship and the origin of their first band name: Lang Leve de Lol. While the fun is still evident, the group, now known as Woodcraft, is making serious strides. From their roots in classical music, Woodcraft has charted a unique path in recent years, experimenting with new possibilities for their traditional instruments. Thanks to their unusual ensemble of 3 cellos and 2 violins, the quintet relies on their own creativity and resourcefulness, which suits them well. Their self-titled debut album, released in 2023, is filled with the quintet's distinctive compositions and improvisations.

Woodcraft's music reflects the era in which they grew up—a genre-crossing style with a strong, distinct voice. By performing only their own compositions, Woodcraft won both the jury and audience awards at the Dutch Jazz Competition in 2022 and has performed at events such as the North Sea Jazz Festival, Het Grachtenfestival, and the Cello Biennale.
