'The Kilkennys', named after their beloved hometown.

The traditional Irish folk and ballad band The Kilkennys captures the hearts of both seasoned traditional music enthusiasts and younger audiences alike. They are renowned for their dynamic, energetic performances and their charismatic rapport with audiences around the world.

The band was formed by schoolmates and began touring Ireland in 1998. In 2008, they decided to name themselves 'The Kilkennys,' after their beloved hometown of Kilkenny City. Over the years, the group has evolved, and today it is primarily composed of Davey Cashin (vocals, mandolin, banjo, guitar, whistles), Tommy Mackey (bass, acoustic guitar, vocals), and Mick Martin (bodhrán, uilleann pipes, low whistles, guitar, vocals).
